Collections

I would die to protect
The things I collect.
The beats of life
spared the knife,
the drops of time
saved from the forgetful mind
if I pulled them from drawers,
raised them in light of stars,
and followed the paths of wrinkles
and dusty cupcake sprinkles,
climbed the button mountains
cascading with doily fountains,
I’ll remember the moments
and surrender seconds.
